Living Sculptures

Horror Romance is an independent design studio in Kaunas, Lithuania, founded by Karolis and Ieva. We create functional objects that carry the trace of something endured—oxidized, burned, weathered or recovered—without leaving product design behind.

Damage, Recreated

Each object begins with a conceptual history: copper left to oxidize, a classical form broken open, or a surface altered by heat, minerals and time. Those stories are recreated through controlled finishing processes. Real copper is chemically oxidized. Mineral surfaces are built by hand. Metallic details are revealed, distressed and sealed.

The result is not artificial perfection. Variation, exposed material and irregular finish are part of the work. No two pieces carry exactly the same surface.

Designed to Live With

Karolis trained in interior and product design. That discipline remains central: every object must hold space, function reliably and feel resolved from every angle. Horror Romance is not interested in darkness as decoration. We are interested in what an object becomes after transformation—and the beauty that survives it.

Each sculptural light is made to order in our studio. Please allow 3–5 weeks before shipping.
